Q1.) How do I sterilize the water outlet?

A.1: Steps:

Place a ≥300 ml container under the outlet.
On the top panel, press & hold “Outlet Sterilize” for 3s.
When prompted, press “Dispense Water.” Cycle takes ≈10 min; hot water starts at ≈7 min.
When done, discard the hot water.
Safety: Keep children away during the cycle.

Q2.) How do I change the scheduled time for the water pipe sterilization?

A.2: Open LG ThinQ → Water Purifier (WD516AN) → Settings → Sterilization Schedule (or tap “>” in High-temperature sterilization).

Set your day/time and Save.
Make sure the Schedule toggle is ON.

Q3.) The water pipe sterilization and water outlet sterilization features are not working.

A.3: Steps:

Press & hold “Internal Sterilize” + “Outlet Sterilize” for 3s.
Press Outlet Sterilize to change the date.
Press Internal Sterilize to change the time.
Press & hold “Dispense Water” for 3s to save.

Q4.) How do I replace the LG PuriCare WD518AN filter ?

Make sure the source-water valve is OPEN and the unit has power.
Ensure the purifier is not dispensing when starting a cycle.
For Outlet Sterilize, place a ≥300 ml container first.
Check Child/Hot Lock and Sterilization Schedule = ON in ThinQ.
If an error appears, power off/on and try again.

Q5.) LG PuriCare WD518AN filter cleaning is not working?

A.5: Steps:

Pull out and remove the draining tray.
Push the moving tap fully left/right and open the filter cover.
Lift the filter 90°, turn counter-clockwise to remove.
Insert the new filter and turn clockwise.
Close the cover; filter cleaning runs ≈7 min.
When complete, press & hold “Cold Water” for 3s to reset usage.

Q6.) How do I set the sound settings and adjust the volume of the purifier the smartphone app ?

A.6: Do not close the source-water valve during replacement; keep it open.

Close the filter cover fully so cleaning can begin.

Q7.) How do i mute LG PuriCare WD518AN navigation sound ?

A.7: LG ThinQ → Water Purifier → ⓘ → Settings → Product Sound. Turn Use ON to configure Button Sound and Water Dispense Voice. Adjust level via Control Volume (>).

Q8.) How to open the LG PuriCare WD518AN filter cover ?

A.8: For safety, voice guidance remains on during Outlet Sterilize, Pipe Sterilize, and Filter Change even if other sounds are muted.

Q9.) How to open the LG PuriCare WD518AN filter cover ?

A.9: Make sure the tray faces forward, not sideways. If it was removed while rotated, realign the locking hole and insert from the front.

A rotated tray can also misalign the filter-cover handle—re-seat the tray properly, then open the cover.
